Divergent is a great book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes dystopian stories or romances. It’s a really captivating story, with beautifully flawed characters and a world that could have been perfect, but wasn’t. -SPOILER WARNING- One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the characters. I am not kidding when I say I literally cheered out loud when tris chose dauntless. I mean, come ON. “I am selfish. I am brave”. One of the best parts of the book. All of the characters have flaws, and insecurities, and they aren’t perfect story-book people. And that’s what makes them so great. The villains are amazing too. While the “erudite is bad” thing was a bit overdone, other than that erudite was an amazing villain. The most important thing about them is, they have a point. As shown by Marcus, who I’ll talk about later, not all of Abnegation is as selfless as people think. The truth is, it’s impossible to have a perfect government. The best we can do is fair. Now, about Marcus. He’s honestly one of the few characters in fiction that I honest-to-goodness hate. And he’s not even a villain! He’s on the good side, but he’s a really terrible person. It’s actually really interesting. Erudite is the “villain,” but they have a good point. They’re trying to do something good. Marcus is one of the good guys, but he’s also just absolutely terrible. So where do you draw the line between good and evil? The last thing I’ll say about the book is that there’s a couple parts that might be hard for some people, so take this as a trigger warning: there’s both suicide and child abuse, so if that’s something you don’t want to read about, maybe avoid this book.

By Far the Best Dystopian I’ve Ever Read

Divergent is the best dystopian I’ve ever read. My mom recommended it so I got the book and began reading, within five chapters I was in love, I finished the book and it had been a wild journey of tears, suspense, laughter and warm fuzzy feelings. This is one of the best romances I’ve ever read, Tris and Tobias are just so amazingly in love, and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and then there’s the factions and war and Will and Peter and Al, that completely stunned me I was not prepared for Al. Tris is such an amazing person and she cares about other people so deeply. And Tobias is and incredible person despite first impressions he would do anything for Tris (he proves it too) and he has a tragic past. The two together are the best couple I’ve ever seen in any book. Divergent and Insurgent are something more than a book they are an experience. Allegiant’s ending made me want to forget the entire book even existed. I mean COME ON!!!! I’m not lying when I say I was crying for an hour. My advice, skip the last 5 or so chapters of Allegiant all together and make up your own ending. It will most likely be much better than the actual one. But Divergent and Insurgent have changed what I think of as a good book. They raised the standards impossibly high. No other book can reach it. I read it in middle school and I recommend this as a must read for anyone 13 to 98.

Still An Okay Book After All These Years

Giving three stars because I’m not quite sure on how to rate this book. I read this book when they first came out with the movie (2014) & I LOVED this book & the movie! I watched the movies on repeat & bought all of the books. I couldn’t get enough of this series! Now I when I read this book (2020), I’m not as in love with it as I once was. I still think it’s a good book & read. Rereading this book makes me want to watch the movies & reread the series, so there’s that (lol).

My favorite!

Divergent was definitely my favorite among the three in the series. There’s something so captivating about the love that continues to grow between Tris and Four. There was romance and suspense in all the right places. It kept me interested and couldn’t put the book down. I also liked that it wasn’t just another teen love story. It wasn’t drama filled or whiney. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely read it again (and again)!

OMG! I can’t even put my feelings about this book into words. Tris is an awesome model and she is fierce. Tobias, or Four, seems so sexy but at the same time nice and gentle. The character development throughout the story is so great. This is my altimeter favorite book and series.

The book was so good I even wrote a letter to Veronica Roth. The movies were inappropriate so I do not advise teens to watch. I finished the series and Veronica Roth is now my favorite author. Best book I've read

I would totally recommend this. I was up all night trying to find out what happens and I was so relieved at the end. Though there is one downside the ending left me with so many questions like what just happened or what happened to the others. So now I am dieing to read he second book "Insurgent". This book was origonally supposed to be just a step out of my conform zone but I ended up loving it so I plan on finishing the whole series u planed from before where I thought I would hate it. So therefore I would 100 percent recommend thanks.

This is book is fantastic! After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I love the romance between Tris and Four (the main characters) and I love how their relationship evolves. All of the characters are very well written, it really does draw a clear image in your head. It is definitely worth it. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up, because it can be pretty violent and descriptive. Also some scenes can be a little inappropriate for younger readers, but 12+ is a good rating. Overall I think it is a fantastic book and worth the read, it’s my favorite book series ever!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZE!!!

I LOOOOOVED this book so much!!! The romance between Four and Tris and the inner and physical strength both of these characters develop throughout the book kept my eyes glued to the pages as I read for 10 hours straight!!! I was able to finish the entire book in just a day and a half even though it was almost 400 pages. I couldn’t put the book down until I got to the end and immediately went on to the second book in the series (Insurgent) just moments after finishing Divergent!! I’m already on page 200 of Insurgent too and I just started it last night!!! Love these books, their author, and the characters so much!! I’m going to be soooo sad when the series comes to an end!!😥😩🤪😄😁😉😉

Appropriate for 5th+ I'd say

I, personally, have to get a REALLY interesting and good book for me to actually keep reading it ongoing and not stop. Well, at first I wasn't so sure because I never liked reading that much but after I actually sat down and took the time, it was WONDERFUL. But also when it says the audience is like 9th grade, I read divergent in 6th grade so if you are trying to find an appropriate book this is one. There are only a couple just kissing parts but it's fine.

Can I just say I loved the book I finished it about 2 weeks or so. I only read book one, and hoping to finish the series. Can I just say I don’t really like Beatrice’s brother he sounds a little awkward to me... something I didn’t like is how they tried to “scare” her by pushing her into that stream I guess you can call it just made me feel really bad and how they beat her up ( freakin Peter) , but four came to the rescue yay four or should I say Tobias. Overall great book can really say anything bad that I didn’t like because there’s nothing for me to hate, but anyways great book loved it can’t wait to keep reading into the series. XOXO

All the haters for this book- why? It seems impossible for someone to not like it. And, if you haven’t read this book, don’t listen to them. Just try it, take a risk. Overall great book can really say anything bad that I didn’t like because there’s nothing for me to hate, but anyways great book loved it can’t wait to keep reading into the series. XOXO

Divergent is a great book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes dystopian stories or romances. It’s a really captivating story, with beautifully flawed characters and a world that could have been perfect, but wasn’t. -SPOILER WARNING- One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the characters. I am not kidding when I say I literally cheered out loud when tris chose dauntless. I mean, come ON. “I am selfish. I am brave”. One of the best parts of the book. All of the characters have flaws, and insecurities, and they aren’t perfect story-book people. And that’s what makes them so great. The villains are amazing too. While the “erudite is bad” thing was a bit overdone, other than that erudite was an amazing villain. The most important thing about them is, they have a point. As shown by Marcus, who I’ll talk about later, not all of Abnegation is as selfless as people think. The truth is, it’s impossible to have a perfect government. The best we can do is fair. Now, about Marcus. He’s honestly one of the few characters in fiction that I honest-to-goodness hate. And he’s not even a villain! He’s on the good side, but he’s a really terrible person. It’s actually really interesting. Erudite is the “villain,” but they have a good point. They’re trying to do something good. Marcus is one of the good guys, but he’s also just absolutely terrible. So where do you draw the line between good and evil? The last thing I’ll say about the book is that there’s a couple parts that might be hard for some people, so take this as a trigger warning: there’s both suicide and child abuse, so if that’s something you don’t want to read about, maybe avoid this book.

By Far the Best Dystopian I’ve Ever Read

Divergent is the best dystopian I’ve ever read. My mom recommended it so I got the book and began reading, within five chapters I was in love, I finished the book and it had been a wild journey of tears, suspense, laughter and warm fuzzy feelings. This is one of the best romances I’ve ever read, Tris and Tobias are just so amazingly in love, and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and then there’s the factions and war and Will and Peter and Al, that completely stunned me I was not prepared for Al. Tris is such an amazing person and she cares about other people so deeply. And Tobias is and incredible person despite first impressions he would do anything for Tris (he proves it too) and he has a tragic past. The two together are the best couple I’ve ever seen in any book. Divergent and Insurgent are something more than a book they are an experience. Allegiant’s ending made me want to forget the entire book even existed. I mean COME ON!!!! I’m not lying when I say I was crying for an hour. My advice, skip the last 5 or so chapters of Allegiant all together and make up your own ending. It will most likely be much better than the actual one. But Divergent and Insurgent have changed what I think of as a good book. They raised the standards impossibly high. No other book can reach it. I read it in middle school and I recommend this as a must read for anyone 13 to 98.

Still An Okay Book After All These Years

Giving three stars because I’m not quite sure on how to rate this book. I read this book when they first came out with the movie (2014) & I LOVED this book & the movie! I watched the movies on repeat & bought all of the books. I couldn’t get enough of this series! Now I when I read this book (2020), I’m not as in love with it as I once was. I still think it’s a good book & read. Rereading this book makes me want to watch the movies & reread the series, so there’s that (lol).

Divergent was definitely my favorite among the three in the series. There’s something so captivating about the love that continues to grow between Tris and Four. There was romance and suspense in all the right places. It kept me interested and couldn’t put the book down. I also liked that it wasn’t just another teen love story. It wasn’t drama filled or whiney. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely read it again (and again)!

Best book I've read

I would totally recommend this. I was up all night trying to find out what happens and I was so relieved at the end. Though there is one downside the ending left me with so many questions like what just happened or what happened to the others. So now I am dieing to read he second book "Insurgent". This book was origonally supposed to be just a step out of my conform zone but I ended up loving it so I plan on finishing the whole series u planed from before where I thought I would hate it. So therefore I would 100 percent recommend thanks.

This is book is fantastic! After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I love the romance between Tris and Four (the main characters) and I love how their relationship evolves. All of the characters are very well written, it really does draw a clear image in your head. It is definitely worth it. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up, because it can be pretty violent and descriptive. Also some scenes can be a little inappropriate for younger readers, but 12+ is a good rating. Overall I think it is a fantastic book and worth the read, it’s my favorite book series ever!

I LOOOOOVED this book so much!!! The romance between Four and Tris and the inner and physical strength both of these characters develop throughout the book kept my eyes glued to the pages as I read for 10 hours straight!!! I was able to finish the entire book in just a day and a half even though it was almost 400 pages. I couldn’t put the book down until I got to the end and immediately went on to the second book in the series (Insurgent) just moments after finishing Divergent!! I’m already on page 200 of Insurgent too and I just started it last night!!! Love these books, their author, and the characters so much!! I’m going to be soooo sad when the series comes to an end!!😥😩🤪😄😁😉😉

I, personally, have to get a REALLY interesting and good book for me to actually keep reading it ongoing and not stop. Well, at first I wasn't so sure because I never liked reading that much but after I actually sat down and took the time, it was WONDERFUL. But also when it says the audience is like 9th grade, I read divergent in 6th grade so if you are trying to find an appropriate book this is one. There are only a couple just kissing parts but it's fine.

Really good! After I read The Hunger Games, I wanted to read more dystopian future books. So I decided to read this. I think Divergent is my favorite book in this series. I enjoyed reading it, but I like The Hunger Games more.

Can I just say I loved the book I finished it about 2 weeks or so. I only read book one, and hoping to finish the series. Can I just say I don’t really like Beatrice’s brother he sounds a little awkward to me... something I didn’t like is how they tried to “scare” her by pushing her into that stream I guess you can call it just made me feel really bad and how they beat her up ( freakin Peter) , but four came to the rescue yay four or should I say Tobias. Overall great book can really say anything bad that I didn’t like because there’s nothing for me to hate, but anyways great book loved it can’t wait to keep reading into the series. XOXO

All the haters for this book- why? It seems impossible for someone to not like it. And, if you haven’t read this book, don’t listen to them. Just try it, take a risk. Divergent is a great book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes dystopian stories or romances. It’s a really captivating story, with beautifully flawed characters and a world that could have been perfect, but wasn’t. -SPOILER WARNING- One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the characters. I am not kidding when I say I literally cheered out loud when tris chose dauntless. I mean, come ON. “I am selfish. I am brave”. One of the best parts of the book. All of the characters have flaws, and insecurities, and they aren’t perfect story-book people. And that’s what makes them so great. The villains are amazing too. While the “erudite is bad” thing was a bit overdone, other than that erudite was an amazing villain. The most important thing about them is, they have a point. As shown by Marcus, who I’ll talk about later, not all of Abnegation is as selfless as people think. The truth is, it’s impossible to have a perfect government. The best we can do is fair. Now, about Marcus. He’s honestly one of the few characters in fiction that I honest-to-goodness hate. And he’s not even a villain! He’s on the good side, but he’s a really terrible person. It’s actually really interesting. Erudite is the “villain,” but they have a good point. They’re trying to do something good. Marcus is one of the good guys, but he’s also just absolutely terrible. So where do you draw the line between good and evil? The last thing I’ll say about the book is that there’s a couple parts that might be hard for some people, so take this as a trigger warning: there’s both suicide and child abuse, so if that’s something you don’t want to read about, maybe avoid this book.

By Far the Best Dystopian I’ve Ever Read

Divergent is the best dystopian I’ve ever read. My mom recommended it so I got the book and began reading, within five chapters I was in love, I finished the book and it had been a wild journey of tears, suspense, laughter and warm fuzzy feelings. This is one of the best romances I’ve ever read, Tris and Tobias are just so amazingly in love, and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and then there’s the factions and war and Will and Peter and Al, that completely stunned me I was not prepared for Al. Tris is such an amazing person and she cares about other people so deeply. And Tobias is and incredible person despite first impressions he would do anything for Tris (he proves it too) and he has a tragic past. The two together are the best couple I’ve ever seen in any book. Divergent and Insurgent are something more than a book they are an experience. Allegiant’s ending made me want to forget the entire book even existed. I mean COME ON!!!! I’m not lying when I say I was crying for an hour. My advice, skip the last 5 or so chapters of Allegiant all together and make up your own ending. It will most likely be much better than the actual one. But Divergent and Insurgent have changed what I think of as a good book. They raised the standards impossibly high. No other book can reach it. I read it in middle school and I recommend this as a must read for anyone 13 to 98.

Still An Okay Book After All These Years

Giving three stars because I’m not quite sure on how to rate this book. I read this book when they first came out with the movie (2014) & I LOVED this book & the movie! I watched the movies on repeat & bought all of the books. I couldn’t get enough of this series! Now I when I read this book (2020), I’m not as in love with it as I once was. I still think it’s a good book & read. Rereading this book makes me want to watch the movies & reread the series, so there’s that (lol).

Divergent was definitely my favorite among the three in the series. There’s something so captivating about the love that continues to grow between Tris and Four. There was romance and suspense in all the right places. It kept me interested and couldn’t put the book down. I also liked that it wasn’t just another teen love story. It wasn’t drama filled or whiney. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely read it again (and again)!

The book was so good I even wrote a letter to Veronica Roth. The movies were inappropriate so I do not advise teens to watch. I finished the series and Veronica Roth is now my favorite author. Best book I've read

I would totally recommend this. I was up all night trying to find out what happens and I was so relieved at the end. Though there is one downside the ending left me with so many questions like what just happened or what happened to the others. So now I am dieing to read he second book "Insurgent". This book was origonally supposed to be just a step out of my conform zone but I ended up loving it so I plan on finishing the whole series u planed from before where I thought I would hate it. So therefore I would 100 percent recommend thanks.

This is book is fantastic! After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I love the romance between Tris and Four (the main characters) and I love how their relationship evolves. All of the characters are very well written, it really does draw a clear image in your head. It is definitely worth it. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up, because it can be pretty violent and descriptive. Also some scenes can be a little inappropriate for younger readers, but 12+ is a good rating. Overall I think it is a fantastic book and worth the read, it’s my favorite book series ever!

I LOOOOOVED this book so much!!! The romance between Four and Tris and the inner and physical strength both of these characters develop throughout the book kept my eyes glued to the pages as I read for 10 hours straight!!! I was able to finish the entire book in just a day and a half even though it was almost 400 pages. I couldn’t put the book down until I got to the end and immediately went on to the second book in the series (Insurgent) just moments after finishing Divergent!! I’m already on page 200 of Insurgent too and I just started it last night!!! Love these books, their author, and the characters so much!! I’m going to be soooo sad when the series comes to an end!!😥😩🤪😄😁😉😉

Appropriate for 5th+ I'd say

I, personally, have to get a REALLY interesting and good book for me to actually keep reading it ongoing and not stop. Well, at first I wasn't so sure because I never liked reading that much but after I actually sat down and took the time, it was WONDERFUL. But also when it says the audience is like 9th grade, I read divergent in 6th grade so if you are trying to find an appropriate book this is one. There are only a couple just kissing parts but it's fine.

The romance between Four and Tris and the inner and physical strength both of these characters develop throughout the book kept my eyes glued to the pages as I read for 10 hours straight!!! I was able to finish the entire book in just a day and a half even though it was almost 400 pages. I couldn’t put the book down until I got to the end and immediately went on to the second book in the series (Insurgent) just moments after finishing Divergent!! I’m already on page 200 of Insurgent too and I just started it last night!!! Love these books, their author, and the characters so much!! I’m going to be soooo sad when the series comes to an end!!😥😩🤪😄😁😉😉

I, personally, have to get a REALLY interesting and good book for me to actually keep reading it ongoing and not stop. Well, at first I wasn't so sure because I never liked reading that much but after I actually sat down and took the time, it was WONDERFUL. But also when it says the audience is like 9th grade, I read divergent in 6th grade so if you are trying to find an appropriate book this is one. There are only a couple just kissing parts but it's fine.

Can I just say I loved the book I finished it about 2 weeks or so. I only read book one, and hoping to finish the series. Can I just say I don’t really like Beatrice’s brother he sounds a little awkward to me... something I didn’t like is how they tried to “scare” her by pushing her into that stream I guess you can call it just made me feel really bad and how they beat her up ( freakin Peter) , but four came to the rescue yay four or should I say Tobias. Overall great book can really say anything bad that I didn’t like because there’s nothing for me to hate, but anyways great book loved it can’t wait to keep reading into the series. XOXO

Divergent is a great book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes dystopian stories or romances. It’s a really captivating story, with beautifully flawed characters and a world that could have been perfect, but wasn’t. -SPOILER WARNING- One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the characters. I am not kidding when I say I literally cheered out loud when tris chose dauntless. I mean, come ON. “I am selfish. I am brave”. One of the best parts of the book. All of the characters have flaws, and insecurities, and they aren’t perfect story-book people. And that’s what makes them so great. The villains are amazing too. While the “erudite is bad” thing was a bit overdone, other than that erudite was an amazing villain. The most important thing about them is, they have a point. As shown by Marcus, who I’ll talk about later, not all of Abnegation is as selfless as people think. The truth is, it’s impossible to have a perfect government. The best we can do is fair. Now, about Marcus. He’s honestly one of the few characters in fiction that I honest-to-goodness hate. And he’s not even a villain! He’s on the good side, but he’s a really terrible person. It’s actually really interesting. Erudite is the “villain,” but they have a good point. They’re trying to do something good. Marcus is one of the good guys, but he’s also just absolutely terrible. So where do you draw the line between good and evil? The last thing I’ll say about the book is that there’s a couple parts that might be hard for some people, so take this as a trigger warning: there’s both suicide and child abuse, so if that’s something you don’t want to read about, maybe avoid this book.

By Far the Best Dystopian I’ve Ever Read

Divergent is the best dystopian I’ve ever read. My mom recommended it so I got the book and began reading, within five chapters I was in love, I finished the book and it had been a wild journey of tears, suspense, laughter and warm fuzzy feelings. This is one of the best romances I’ve ever read, Tris and Tobias are just so amazingly in love, and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and then there’s the factions and war and Will and Peter and Al, that completely stunned me I was not prepared for Al. Tris is such an amazing person and she cares about other people so deeply. And Tobias is and incredible person despite first impressions he would do anything for Tris (he proves it too) and he has a tragic past. The two together are the best couple I’ve ever seen in any book. Divergent and Insurgent are something more than a book they are an experience. Allegiant’s ending made me want to forget the entire book even existed. I mean COME ON!!!! I’m not lying when I say I was crying for an hour. My advice, skip the last 5 or so chapters of Allegiant all together and make up your own ending. It will most likely be much better than the actual one. But Divergent and Insurgent have changed what I think of as a good book. They raised the standards impossibly high. No other book can reach it. I read it in middle school and I recommend this as a must read for anyone 13 to 98.

Still An Okay Book After All These Years

Giving three stars because I’m not quite sure on how to rate this book. I read this book when they first came out with the movie (2014) & I LOVED this book & the movie! I watched the movies on repeat & bought all of the books. I couldn’t get enough of this series! Now I when I read this book (2020), I’m not as in love with it as I once was. I still think it’s a good book & read. Rereading this book makes me want to watch the movies & reread the series, so there’s that (lol).

Divergent was definitely my favorite among the three in the series. There’s something so captivating about the love that continues to grow between Tris and Four. There was romance and suspense in all the right places. It kept me interested and couldn’t put the book down. I also liked that it wasn’t just another teen love story. Best book I've read

I would totally recommend this. I was up all night trying to find out what happens and I was so relieved at the end. Though there is one downside the ending left me with so many questions like what just happened or what happened to the others. So now I am dieing to read he second book "Insurgent". This book was origonally supposed to be just a step out of my conform zone but I ended up loving it so I plan on finishing the whole series u planed from before where I thought I would hate it. So therefore I would 100 percent recommend thanks.

my all time favorite

This is book is fantastic! After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I love the romance between Tris and Four (the main characters) and I love how their relationship evolves. All of the characters are very well written, it really does draw a clear image in your head. It is definitely worth it. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up, because it can be pretty violent and descriptive. Also some scenes can be a little inappropriate for younger readers, but 12+ is a good rating. Overall I think it is a fantastic book and worth the read, it’s my favorite book series ever!

This is book is fantastic! After reading the first few pages, I was hooked. I love the romance between Tris and Four (the main characters) and I love how their relationship evolves. All of the characters are very well written, it really does draw a clear image in your head. It is definitely worth it. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up, because it can be pretty violent and descriptive. Also some scenes can be a little inappropriate for younger readers, but 12+ is a good rating. Overall I think it is a fantastic book and worth the read, it’s my favorite book series ever!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZE!!!

I LOOOOOVED this book so much!!! The romance between Four and Tris and the inner and physical strength both of these characters develop throughout the book kept my eyes glued to the pages as I read for 10 hours straight!!! I was able to finish the entire book in just a day and a half even though it was almost 400 pages. I couldn’t put the book down until I got to the end and immediately went on to the second book in the series (Insurgent) just moments after finishing Divergent!! I’m already on page 200 of Insurgent too and I just started it last night!!! Love these books, their author, and the characters so much!! I’m going to be soooo sad when the series comes to an end!!😥😩🤪😄😁😉😉

Appropriate for 5th+ I'd say

I, personally, have to get a REALLY interesting and good book for me to actually keep reading it ongoing and not stop. Well, at first I wasn't so sure because I never liked reading that much but after I actually sat down and took the time, it was WONDERFUL. But also when it says the audience is like 9th grade, I read divergent in 6th grade so if you are trying to find an appropriate book this is one. There are only a couple just kissing parts but it's fine.

Can I just say I loved the book I finished it about 2 weeks or so. I only read book one, and hoping to finish the series. Can I just say I don’t really like Beatrice’s brother he sounds a little awkward to me... something I didn’t like is how they tried to “scare” her by pushing her into that stream I guess you can call it just made me feel really bad and how they beat her up ( freakin Peter) , but four came to the rescue yay four or should I say Tobias. Overall great book can really say anything bad that I didn’t like because there’s nothing for me to hate, but anyways great book loved it can’t wait to keep reading into the series. XOXO

Divergent is a great book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes dystopian stories or romances. It’s a really captivating story, with beautifully flawed characters and a world that could have been perfect, but wasn’t. -SPOILER WARNING- One of my favorite things about this book is definitely the characters. I am not kidding when I say I literally cheered out loud when tris chose dauntless. I mean, come ON. “I am selfish. I am brave”. One of the best parts of the book. All of the characters have flaws, and insecurities, and they aren’t perfect story-book people. And that’s what makes them so great. The villains are amazing too. While the “erudite is bad” thing was a bit overdone, other than that erudite was an amazing villain. The most important thing about them is, they have a point. As shown by Marcus, who I’ll talk about later, not all of Abnegation is as selfless as people think. The truth is, it’s impossible to have a perfect government. The best we can do is fair. Now, about Marcus. He’s honestly one of the few characters in fiction that I honest-to-goodness hate. And he’s not even a villain! He’s on the good side, but he’s a really terrible person. It’s actually really interesting. Erudite is the “villain,” but they have a good point. They’re trying to do something good. Marcus is one of the good guys, but he’s also just absolutely terrible. So where do you draw the line between good and evil? The last thing I’ll say about the book is that there’s a couple parts that might be hard for some people, so take this as a trigger warning: there’s both suicide and child abuse, so if that’s something you don’t want to read about, maybe avoid this book.

By Far the Best Dystopian I’ve Ever Read

Divergent is the best dystopian I’ve ever read. My mom recommended it so I got the book and began reading, within five chapters I was in love, I finished the book and it had been a wild journey of tears, suspense, laughter and warm fuzzy feelings. This is one of the best romances I’ve ever read, Tris and Tobias are just so amazingly in love, and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ and then there’s the factions and war and Will and Peter and Al, that completely stunned me I was not prepared for Al. Tris is such an amazing person and she cares about other people so deeply. And Tobias is and incredible person despite first impressions he would do anything for Tris (he proves it too) and he has a tragic past. The two together are the best couple I’ve ever seen in any book. Divergent and Insurgent are something more than a book they are an experience. Allegiant’s ending made me want to forget the entire book even existed. I mean COME ON!!!! I’m not lying when I say I was crying for an hour. My advice, skip the last 5 or so chapters of Allegiant all together and make up your own ending. It will most likely be much better than the actual one. But Divergent and Insurgent have changed what I think of as a good book. They raised the standards impossibly high. No other book can reach it. I read it in middle school and I recommend this as a must read for anyone 13 to 98.

Still An Okay Book After All These Years

Giving three stars because I’m not quite sure on how to rate this book. I read this book when they first came out with the movie (2014) & I LOVED this book & the movie! I watched the movies on repeat & bought all of the books. I couldn’t get enough of this series! Now I when I read this book (2020), I’m not as in love with it as I once was. I still think it’s a good book & read. Rereading this book makes me want to watch the movies & reread the series, so there’s that (lol).

Divergent was definitely my favorite among the three in the series. There’s something so captivating about the love that continues to grow between Tris and Four. There was romance and suspense in all the right places. It kept me interested and couldn’t put the book down. I also liked that it wasn’t just another teen love story. It wasn’t drama filled or whiney. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely read it again (and again)!

The book was so good I even wrote a letter to Veronica Roth. The movies were inappropriate so I do not advise teens to watch. I finished the series and Veronica Roth is now my favorite author. Best book I've read

I would totally recommend this. I was up all night trying to find out what happens and I was so relieved at the end. Though there is one downside the ending left me with so many questions like what just happened or what happened to the others. So now I am dieing to read he second book "Insurgent". This book was origonally supposed to be just a step out of my conform zone but I ended up loving it so I plan on finishing the whole series u planed from before where I thought I would hate it. So therefore I would 100 percent recommend thanks.
